Interesting idea. I will be following this thread.
I am manager operations in an SME. Doing all the theoretical roles of a manager but still not able to impress my boss :) No worries because majority of SME owners intentionally avoid appreciating their staff fearing that it may encourage them to ask for rewards.
My experience is that a word of appreciation is much more effective than a monitory reward that is why I always appreciate my staff and get the results.
Anyways, I will keep posting and listening to you.
